The rotational angle sensor comprises an optical radiation source (1) and a detector (2), where a shading structure is arranged in a beam path between the radiation source and the detector, whose position changes with a rotational axis (D). A rotational angle of the rotational axis is provided, such that the shading structure is partly illuminated by a radiation (3) of the radiation source depending on the angle of rotation of the rotational axis. The shading structure is formed on glass or on translucent plastic material.
