The axle (1) has two drive shafts (51', 51'') arranged at axle ends and lying on a common rotational axis (R1). A differential gear (4) e.g. planetary gear, is fixed downstream to a drive motor (2) i.e. electric machine, and two output shafts (5', 5'') are provided at two outputs of the differential gear for operating each drive shaft by a reduction gear. Reduction gears (7', 7'') are designed as spur gears and designed such that the drive motor and the outputs of the differential gear comprise a rotational axis (R2) and arranged non-coaxially to the common rotational axis of the drive shafts.
