The method involves casting a disk shaped blank (10), and milling edges of zones of the blank such that flat edge surfaces (28) are formed in the zones of the blank, where the zones are spaced from each other. Milling disks (26, 30) are arranged at a frame (18). The frame is moved in a direction perpendicular to a plane of the blank for milling the edge surfaces in an operation process. The edge surfaces lie opposite to each other at opposite ends of the blank. A notch is produced for a wear indicator in the operation process in the blank or a produced brake lining carrier. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for producing a brake lining carrier.
