The roof has a roof part comprising an opening, and another roof part (18) closing the opening in a condition of the roof. An elongated seal (20) circulates the opening in the condition of the roof, and is fastened to the former roof part or the latter roof part in the condition of the roof by a plug connection, where the seal has two ends (24, 26). The ends of the seal are connected with one another and fastened to the latter roof part, where the ends comprise respective fastening units (28, 30). The seal is manufactured as a single-piece from rubber by an extrusion process. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a vehicle roof.
