The process for extending a service life of technical surfaces of a mold in a non-ferrous metal casting, comprises applying a further demolded coating as a top-coat on a base coating of a technical surface, where the base coating consists of water glass-based layer and has a layer thickness of 20-100 mu m. The mold is operated in low-pressure casting or gravitation method. The top-coat consists of a nanoceramic layer and has a layer thickness of 3-20 mu m. The nanoceramic top-coat contains inorganic binder, and further ingredients next to nano-scale particles. An independent claim is included for a mold for non-ferrous metal casting.
