The device comprises a first component (1) with a hollow fiber membrane for separating nitrogen from air, and a second component (3) arranged downstream to the first component, with two adsorber chambers (4, 5) for mutual operation that are filled with molecular sieve. The first and second component and/or the second component are arranged downstream to a measuring device for controlling the purity of the nitrogen product stream to be produced. A gas analysis device is arranged between the adsorber chambers. A gas storage (9) is present between the first and second components. The device comprises a first component (1) with a hollow fiber membrane for separating nitrogen from air, and a second component (3) arranged downstream to the first component, with two adsorber chambers (4, 5) for mutual operation that are filled with molecular sieve. The first and second component and/or the second component are arranged downstream to a measuring device for controlling the purity of the nitrogen product stream to be produced. A gas analysis device is arranged between the adsorber chambers. A gas storage (9) is present between the first and second components. The device is an aggregate in which first and second components and/or nitrogen storage are arranged in a housing. The first and second component and the nitrogen storage are concentrically arranged to each other. The housing has the form of a gas flange. An independent claim is included for a method for the separation of nitrogen from air or nitrogen-containing gas.
