The hearing aid (8) has an actuator (13) that is controllable based on a characteristic of an acoustic environment of the hearing aid. The actuator and a sensor (14) e.g. contact sensor, are made of an electro-active polymer. An opening condition (B) of a ventilation channel (12) is changeable with a closing device of the hearing aid, where the closing device is made of the electro-active polymer. The closing device is controlled depending on a signal of a signal processing unit (10). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a hearing aid.
