Production of a wet wipe product involves separately impregnating hydrophilic non-woven and hydrophobic woven materials in an impregnation bath containing a lotion (I); stacking the impregnated non-woven and woven materials in alternating manner to give a stacked wet wipe; and storing the stack until migration of (I) from the woven material to the non-woven material has created a stable, homogeneous impregnation level in both materials. An independent claim is included for a weet wipe containing two different support materials, impregnated with the same lotion (I) at the same impregnation level and located alternately in a wet wipe stack, where (i) the two support materials are hydrophilic non-woven and hydrophobic woven materials and (ii) (I) has migrated in the stack to the non-woven material to create a stable, homogeneous impregnation level in both materials.
