The device has a flotation container comprising a mixing device for supplying stream (8) of gas in form of compressed air. A discharge pipe or a foam groove discharges formed flotation foam with extraneous material. A discharge unit is provided for discharging pure pulp suspension. Flow channels (6) guide a stream (10) of the pulp suspension into the mixing device. A flow divider (9) is arranged in the flow channels, and divides the stream of the pulp suspension into multiple partial streams at short section, where the partial streams are unified in the flow divider.
