The method involves detecting visualization context for a medical image (B1), where the context is independent of an acquisition protocol for acquisition of the medical image. A usage signal is detected to use the detected visualization context for the medical image on another medical image (B2) or reference image. The medical images are acquired by medical imaging modality e.g. computer tomography. The context is stored in reference to the two medical images. The context is dynamically changeable, during display of the medical images, which are selected from multiple of images. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a viewing system for comparison of a medical image with another medical image of a patient (2) a computer program product, which is loaded in a memory of a computer for comparing the medical image with another medical image of the patient.
