The device has a drainage provided in a soil area of a plant container (1). An outlet of the drainage is led without inclination in control shafts (4) provided with discharge units (7, 8) and is provided in the plant container at same height. Discharge height of the drainage in the control shafts is adjusted within a range of the height of the container. The drainage is formed by a water-permeable layer arranged in the container at a distance from a floor space, where the drainage is formed by drainage pipes (2) that are arranged over the floor space.
