The hydrogen heater has a combustion system with a mixing unit (11) functioning as a combustor for producing heat and combustion gases by combustion of hydrogen gas and oxygen gas. A spiral-shaped pipe system transmits the heat from the combustion gases to a heat exchanger and is integrated into a building circuit, where the heat exchanger transmits the heat to a heating medium. The hydrogen gas is supplied from a storage container to a dosing unit (2) over pipelines (10) such that the hydrogen gas is guided to the mixing unit by a safety valve (3).
