The device has two band sections (8) or oblong strips (10) for constant or discontinuous rotation of non-circular and/or circular workpiece (9) to be treated in an area of jets. The workpiece lies between the band sections or the oblong strips, such that the band sections or the oblong strips rest against the periphery of the workpiece. The band sections are formed by two rotating transmission belts or transmission chain. An outer side of a working strand (8a) of the transmission belt rests against the area of the workpiece.
