The device (10) has drive heads (14, 15) guided within corresponding working areas (16, 17) and for dosed application a conductive adhesive bead on a solar cell (11) or for contactable application of a metal strip on the bead or for applying a sealing paste or band on a rear side covering of a solar cell module. The drive heads are transversely arranged at a distance from each other, and are displaceable into maintenance stations (18, 19) outside of the working areas, respectively. Movement of the drive heads transversely or diagonally runs from one of the working areas to the other area.
