The method involves moving a lining element in partial coordination with movement of a guidance component i.e. bonnet compartment cover (12). A determination is made to check whether the lining element reaches a pre-determined position, and a change of a movement condition of the lining element is introduced when the lining element reaches the position. An additional component is moved into a functional position during existence of the changed movement condition of the lining element. The movement of the lining element is interrupted while reaching the position of the lining element. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
