The centering unit has an output shaft (1) connected with an operating unit, and a spring (2) i.e. spiral spring, for resetting the output shaft by a gear mechanism (3) i.e. planetary gear. The gear mechanism is arranged between the output shaft and a spring shaft (4). Restoring moment of the spring is transferred to the output shaft over the spring shaft and the gear mechanism. An electromagnetic damper (20) is integrated into a housing (30) of the centering unit and provided with an armature (22).
