The system (10) has two gear wheels (14, 16) driven by a third gear wheel (12) of a crankshaft of an internal combustion engine. An assembly assigned in a case is driven by the gear wheels. The gear wheels are integrated with the assigned assemblies and/or shafts into the drive system. A fourth gear wheel (18) of the system is connected with a shaft of a fuel pump for a continuous belt drive e.g. chain drive, driving of cam shafts (22, 24), and is arranged in a plane parallel to a plane of the gear wheels. One of the gear wheels (14) is connected with a shaft of a lubricant pump.
