The component has a plastic profile (2) i.e. plastic hollow section, for assembling elements e.g. window frame, with heat-insulating characteristics. A reinforcing element (3) is arranged on an external surface of the plastic profile or inside the plastic profile and fixedly and constantly connected with the plastic profile in its longitudinal direction. The reinforcing element is glued with the plastic profile. The reinforcing element and the plastic profile are glued completely or in area of edge zones of longitudinal edges. The reinforcing element is made of glass and/or carbon fiber reinforced plastic.
