The device (10) has a closing part (21) provided at a door i.e. rear flap, side, and a counter closing part (22) provided at a body side. A carrier unit e.g. mounting plate (16), is shiftable by a drive (36), and the closing part or the counter closing part is arranged at the carrier unit. The drive cooperates with the unit by a four-bar linkage (28) and guides (25, 26) of the linkage exhibit hinge points (A-D), where distance (d) of the points of one of the guides deviates from distance (c) of the points of the other guide. A hinge points arrangement deviates from a parallelogram form.
