The detector (1) has an ultrasonic receiver (10) provided in a focal point (9) of a parabolic reflector that is formed as an offset- parabolic reflector. The geometry of the offset- parabolic reflector is shadow-freely aligned to a receiving area of the receiver, where the area lies approximately in 60 degrees. The offset- parabolic reflector is formed as an offset- parabolic antenna (8). An evaluation unit is provided with power supply devices, where the antenna, the receiver and target determining devices are arranged at a handhold (6) by a support (7).
