The brush (1) has bristles (3) supported on a bristle carrier (4). An elastic material layer (5) is provided between a brush body (2) and the bristle carrier for connecting the brush body and the bristle carrier using partial melting process. The bristle carrier has grooves or slots between adjacent bristles, and sleeves for receiving the bristles, which are connected with each other using thin-walled pins. The elastic material layer is projected in a lateral direction to a bristle longitudinal direction over circumference of the bristle carrier and the brush body. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a brush.
