The controller (17) has a limitation device (31) limiting an output torque at a torque-maximum value depending on a motor current value (34) that represents motor current (Imot) supplied to a drive motor (12). The device has a comparison unit (37) comparing the torque maximum value with inner motor moment value (36) that depends on the current. The device decreases the inner motor moment value or increases the torque maximum value around a moment of inertia value (43) that depends on acceleration of a drive train (11) during comparison for reproduction of really provided output torque. An independent claim is also included for a machine tool comprising a temperature sensor.
