The device (1) has a disk blower comprising a circumferential side and another circumferential side with widely spaced needle disks. The needle disks comprise uniform distances at each individual position of a circumference of the disk blower. Close distance of the needle disks corresponds to breadth of a filament thread (6), which runs in a rotary thread extender (7), and a width distance of the disks corresponds to breadth of a filament band (8) and a spring-back is developed after removal of needles from the filament band. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a band-shaped filament thread.
