The cooking hob has a display (14) i.e. LCD, arranged in a cooking hob housing below a cover plate (10). The display is partially surrounded by an insulation material (16) e.g. temperature-resistant insulation foam, which protects the display against hot air from the cooking hob housing. The insulation material surrounds the entire extent of the display. A user interface housing arranged within the cooking hob housing is provided for the admission of the display. The insulation material forms a layer with a thickness between 4.5 mm and 6 mm.
