The motor has a squirrel cage e.g. sleeve, arranged on a laminated sheet package and connected with a rotor shaft of the motor. Permanent magnets are arranged at an outer side of the package. The permanent magnets are connected with the package by an adhesive joint. The squirrel cage is thermally compressed in a force-fit manner and connected to the package together with the permanent magnets. The permanent magnets are arranged in slots of the package, where the package is made of steel. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an electric motor.
