The component (10) has lower and upper regions (12, 14) made of two different materials and formed below and above a section point (16) i.e. separation plane, respectively. The material i.e. steel or aluminum alloy, of the lower region has higher rigidity and/or ductility and/or density than the material i.e. light metal alloy such as aluminum- or magnesium alloy, of the upper region. The lower and upper regions are connected with each other along the section point by beam welding or friction stir welding.
