The polymer stent (10) has a carrier structure opened at longitudinal ends, where the carrier structure encloses an inner chamber that permits flow of body fluid from one of the ends to the other end. An external surface (12) of the carrier structure turned towards the inner chamber has a microstructure part that is formed by microstructures. The microstructure part causes turbulence of the body fluid that flows through the inner chamber. The turbulence of the body fluid prevents or limits the formation of stationary dead water areas and laminar current within the body fluid.
