The device (1) has a supply pipe (7) for measuring fluid between a pressure fluid storage (4) and hollow volumes (2, 3). The pressure fluid storage supplies constant measuring fluid pressure, and an orifice plate-supply pipe (15) is provided with an orifice plate (19). Flow sides of the orifice plate are connected with a differential pressure gauge (21). A constant pressure pipe (8) is arranged in front of the orifice plate-supply pipe. A mechanical pressure controller is arranged in a pressure pipe and adjustable by a stepper motor (14). An independent claim is also included for a method for leakage examination of hollow volumes of an internal-combustion engine.
