The filter (1) has an input coupling circuit (3) partly extending into an inner side of a box (2) to emit electromagnetic waves inside the box. A filtering unit filters the electromagnetic waves emitted by the input coupling circuit, and an output coupling circuit (4) partly extends into the inner side of the box to receive the electromagnetic waves filtered by a filter unit. The box comprises a separating wall (12) that separates the box into two compartments (13, 14). The box comprises a side panel (8) and two covers (7), where the separating wall runs parallel to the covers. An independent claim is also included for a method for filtering radio frequency signals.
