The system (1) has a split cast plate (2) arranged in an articulator. A base plate (3) is connected with the split cast plate for retaining a dental model. A recess (4) is formed at a side of the split cast plate and the base plate. A projection (5) is arranged at another side of the split cast plate and the base plate. The projection is tapered in direction that is turned away from surfaces of the split cast plate and the base plate.
