Disclosed is a guide roller for carriages of sliding doors on motor vehicles, comprising a roller body that is made of plastic or another elastic material, is rotatably disposed on a pin with the aid of a receiving opening, and is secured against axial displacement. Said guide roller is fastened by means of a positive plug-in connection between the roller body and the pin, a portion of the receiving opening expanding in an elastic manner when the roller body is placed upon the pin, whereby fastening takes place in a simplified manner while avoiding a major effort for mounting the guide roller.
