Use of composition comprising anisic acid or its derivatives, in a medium, as an agent for enhancing the peeling off the skin and/or stimulating the skin renewal, is claimed. An independent claim is included for the cosmetic treatment of visible and/or touch irregularities of human skin comprising applying the composition on the skin comprising anisic acid or its derivatives, leaving the composition in contact with the skin for 5 minutes to 6 hours, preferably 5-30 minutes and eliminating the composition by rinsing.
