The unit e.g. letter ballot (10), has two symmetrical encryption codes (14) i.e. barcodes, printed on all surfaces of the ballot with respect to the center of the surfaces, where the letter ballot is a physical letter ballot made of paper. The encryption codes represent information relative to vote, and are read and interpreted by an electronic code reading device i.e. optical mark recognition (OMR) device. A reference (16) relative to a polling station is provided on the center of each surface. An independent claim is also included for a voting method.
