The method involves measuring lengths of wooden pieces (3) that are cut into length with maximum utilization of material, and conserving the length of each wooden piece in a memory in a digital control device (4). The pieces are placed in a pell-mell manner in compartments (11) presented in a warehouse (10). Position of each piece stored in the compartments is recorded by using the digital control device. The stored pieces are deduced in the compartments while taking into account dimensions of a window. The pieces are sent for continuing processing operation. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlled storing of wooden pieces for forming a frame of a window.
