The method involves thermo compressing a plastic material plate (1), on which a leather sheet (4) is previously connected, to form a plastic piece. An adhesive layer is interposed between the leather sheet and the plastic material plate. A foam is placed under the sheet, before being placed on the plate, where the plate is pre-heated at a temperature ranging between 170 and 220 degree Celsius, before being placed and coated with the leather sheet in a press (3) that includes parts (31, 32) defining a definite shape of the plastic piece.
