The method involves establishing a communication (3) with a communication terminal (2) by another communication terminal (1). An incoming call notification is displayed to a user of the former terminal, on a screen (2'), where the incoming call notification comprises a user identifier of the latter terminal and presence information concerning a user of the latter terminal. The presence information contains information about availability of the user of the latter terminal for establishing an instant messaging session between the terminals.
