The device (D) has two upper housings (Lj) provided with two telescopic type bars (B1, B2), and a flexible obstructing curtain (RS) comprising an end (E1) fixed on a lateral lining element of a motor vehicle on a side of a storage area. A roller (ER) is provided with a set of fixation units (MF1) fixed on the bars at one of the housings. The end of the curtain is fixed to the roller and to a rod (TR) provided with another set of fixation units (MF2) that is removably fixed on the bars at the other housing. The fixation units are one of pin and sprocket.
