The crane (1) has an articulated handling post (11) including a primary arm (12) mounted pivotingly along a rotation axis (Y-Y') on a chassis (2). The post has a secondary arm (16) mounted on the primary arm, where the crane is operated in a first configuration in which the rotation axis is perpendicular to a symmetry axis (X-X') and is closer to a first intersection point (9) than a second intersection point (10).
