The wire (1) has a core (2) made of metal or alloy, and a covering layer (3) made of zinc alloy, where the zinc alloy is an alloy of zinc and metals comprising iron, cobalt and nickel. The zinc alloy is used in gamma or delta phase at an ambient temperature, and is split. The covering layer has an average thickness (epsilon 3) greater than 3 micrometer and lower than 20 micrometer. A superficial layer is made of ductile metal i.e. zinc, and has an average thickness of about 5 micrometer. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating an electrode wire.
