The method involves extracting sediment from base of water, and mixing and milling the sediments with lime and binder e.g. hydraulic binder, for obtaining processed material by a mixing and milling unit, where the binder acts as a retaining agent and neutralizes toxic particles. The processed material is used as material for public works, and is utilized for realizing a foundation layer. The mixing and milling unit has a container (6) for receiving the sediment and a mixer (8). An independent claim is also included for an installation for revaluing loaded sediments of toxic particles, comprising a container.
