The air supply system comprises an air cleaner for treating the atmospheric air of the cabin, and a device for intermittent regeneration of the air. The regenerative device comprises a device for heating the air cleaner by the energy of combustion gas. The heating device comprises a turbocharger for supplying compressed air in the heat engine, a device for withdrawing a fraction of the air in downstream of the turbocharger and diverting that fraction towards the air cleaner into a heating and regenerating flow of the cleaner, and a switching unit. The air supply system comprises an air cleaner for treating the atmospheric air of the cabin, and a device for intermittent regeneration of the air. The regenerative device comprises a device for heating the air cleaner by the energy of combustion gas. The heating device comprises a turbocharger for supplying compressed air in the heat engine, a device for withdrawing a fraction of the air in downstream of the turbocharger and diverting that fraction towards the air cleaner into a heating and regenerating flow of the cleaner, and a switching unit movable between a first state in which a path for heat flowing and regenerating is defined to pass through the air cleaner then for opening outside the vehicle cabin and a second state in which the device for withdrawing and diverting is inoperative while the ventilation system is controlled for blowing air in the cabin. The device for cooling the compressed air intended for heat engine is connected between a repression of the turbocharger and an inlet of the heat engine. The withdrawing and diverting device is connected in upstream of the cooling device for collecting the air for heat flowing and regenerating before cooling of the air. The cooling device is connected between an outlet of the turbocharger and an inlet of the heat engine. A fan is arranged for circulating air in the cabin through the cleaner in a first direction of flow from exterior vent duct towards the cabin. The cleaner is present in upstream and downstream of the fan to be traversed by the flow of heating and regenerating in a second and first direction respectively. An independent claim is included for a process is useful for regenerating an air treatment filter placed inside a motor vehicle.
