The method involves setting two acoustic emission sensors around an area to be studied, and recording acoustic emission signals received by the sensors based on time. Positions of acoustic emission sources are determined from the acoustic emission signals, and distribution of the number of acoustic emissions is mapped based on the positions of the sources and the time. Identification is carried out on a map of areas locally presenting increase higher than 10 times of average density of the acoustic emission signals on duration higher to hour as sulfide stress cracking source.
