The method involves introducing chronometry information into a projectile fuze (1), where the information is in the form of a digital signal. The information in the fuze is corrected by applying a corrective coefficient to the information. The corrective coefficient is calculated by making a relationship between a theoretical duration and a measured duration of a reference pattern provided by a programming unit (5). The pattern is introduced into the fuze before introducing the information. The theoretical duration is stored in the fuze. The real duration is measured by the fuze. An independent claim is also included for a projectile fuze comprising a calculation unit.
