The engine has cylinders alternately arranged around a median plane along two rows parallel to a direction. Two cylinder heads (20-1, 20-2) are respectively associated with the rows of cylinders, and have opposite faces (21-1, 21-2) symmetric with respect to the plane. Fluid circulation ducts (22-1, 22-2) e.g. intake air circulation ducts, are alternately arranged on the faces around the plane. The ducts of one of the heads are overlapped between the ducts of the other head. The ducts have outlet orifices (23-1, 23-2) adjacent to the faces and aligned parallel to another direction (D').
