The method involves generating and transmitting a service activation code by a user authentication server (4) to a service editor (1). The code is transmitted by the editor to peripheral clients used by a subscriber. The code is transmitted to the server from a mobile telephony terminal (3) of the subscriber. Validity of the code received from the terminal of the subscriber is informed to the editor. The editor is allowed to access a service via the clients, where the clients are a portable computer (2a) and an interactive terminal (2b). An independent claim is also included for a system for controlling access of a service.
