The device (100) has a self-calibrating unit including a comparing unit i.e. latch (104), for comparing a phase of an output signal (113) of an active transconductance filter (101) in response to a first signal (111), with a phase of a second signal (112) that is offset from the first signal with a determined phase difference. The latch controls a current control device (103) that controls the current supply of the filter so as to minimize the difference between the output signal phase and the second signal phase.
