The system has a terminal (T1) connected to a network (12) e.g. wired network, and requesting reception of a multimedia stream from a predetermined multimedia stream group. A determination unit i.e. processor (88), determines the multimedia stream to be received by the terminal, from the multimedia stream group based on a value associated with an attribute relative to characteristics of the multimedia stream and another value associated with parameters relative to the terminal. A memory (40) stores data relative to the multimedia stream in a data structure (S). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for distributing a multimedia stream (2) a computer program comprising a set of instructions for implementing a method for distribution of a multimedia stream (3) a recording medium for storing a computer program comprising the set of instructions for implementing a multimedia stream distributing method.
