The method involves detecting shifting of a communication path between a primary node i.e. emitter node, and a secondary node i.e. receiver node. A reception power level of a predetermined signal emitted by the secondary node is measured during a first time interval allocated to the secondary node for transmission of data other than point-to-point data. New transmission power parameters of the primary node are determined based on the measured reception power level. The new transmission power parameters are transmitted to the secondary node during a second time interval. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a downloadable computer program comprising a set of instructions for implementing a method for configuration of transmission power parameters (2) a storage unit for storing the computer program (3) a primary node for configuration of transmission power parameters of a first point-to-point node of a wireless communication network (4) a secondary node for configuration of transmission power parameters of a first point-to-point node of a wireless communication network.
