The installation (I) has a duct (8) placed downstream of a hydraulic turbine i.e. Francis turbine (1), for circulating a forced flow (E) of water. A gas collection chamber (12) is in fluid communication with an upper part (S8) of an internal volume (V8) of the duct. The chamber is connected to the internal volume of the duct by openings (14), where the openings are distributed parallel to a longitudinal axis (X82) of a downstream portion (82) of the duct. A pipe (18) connects the chamber to a tank (20) that stores methane.
