The container has a plastic cigarette cutting strip (9) for cutting an incandescent end of a cigarette by closing a lid (7), where the lid covers a sealed compartment i.e. ashtray housing (4), that is used for collecting waste such as the incandescent end of the cut cigarette, butt or ash. A compartment (1) is provided for a standard size lighter. A housing (2) accommodates the cigarette or cigarette residue. The ashtray housing has an orifice (8) for introduction of the cigarette, and has a removable metal vat i.e. metallic ashtray (11).
